The "landing" on Mars has been finally reached and now, after over 310 days of isolation the Mars 500 crew is on their way home. Since this will take another 7 months, this is from the psychological point of view one - or if not THE- most difficult part of the journey.
The big goal of "landing" on the Mars has been reached, and now they all have to handle the long time their homecoming will take. This and some more aspects is described in the current Mars 500 mission report HERE.
If you want to see more from the EVA landing on Mars and the feelings of the crew members, you can check this link here:
It becomes apparent why the danger of tension inside the group is bigger than ever, because after all only 3 of the 6 crew members were chosen to simulate the Mars landing.
But as being part of the mission that will build up knowledge necessary for a real expedition to Mars in the future, the crew members of course had to salute Yuri Gagarin and his 50th anniversary of being the first human being in space.
